John Jarrett

Founder & Executive Director

An Atlanta native, John graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education with an emphasis in Parks and Recreation Management. John is an avid adventurer, hiker, surfer, snowboarding enthusiast, and world traveler. He has lived on four continents and loves cultural discovery and community immersion.

After working for Jay Vending Company for 19 years and achieving the position of Regional Director, John decided to change careers and enter the non-profit world. He joined the Wilderness Works staff in 2014 and became the Director of Camps. Discovering a passion for working with neglected children, he decided to create Atlanta Leadership Club to fill a gap in job training and mentoring among Atlanta’s at-risk neighborhoods. John sees this as another great adventure and is excited about the future.

Cailee Stearns Program Director

Since her childhood growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Cailee has always loved an atmosphere full of outdoors, children, and places with water. Cailee attended Lakeside High School, swam competitively year-round for 12 years, and graduated in 2016. After her many years of swimming, she went on to teach the sport to children of all ages for over 6 years.

Cailee has since been working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Atlanta Home Care Partners, Inc. and is currently enrolled at the University of Georgia scheduled to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in Spring 2021. Cailee found her passion for healthcare as she entered college, and hopes to enroll in Physician Assistant school. Cailee wants to pass on as much knowledge, energy, and love to others, and that led her to join John in achieving the non-profit’s mission at Atlanta Leadership Club.
